What's in a name?

For reasons explained elsewhere, the 1995 chicks quickly acquired the names Laurel and Hardy. However, it was pointed out that both chicks were very likely female, thereby rendering the names somewhat inappropriate - at least to anyone familiar with the comedy team of Laurel & Hardy from days gone by.

That's not necessarily true at all. Could it not be possible for the venerable comedians to have had offspring or friends of the female gender, who might just happened to have been named Ann Laurel and Olive Hardy? So there you have it!
