June 22nd, 1998 -- "I told you it wouldn't hurt. Now c'mon, stop acting like a baby!" Pud Hunter consoles a chick after the band has been put on the leg. The plastic ID bands stay on the bird's leg for life, and can aid biologists in determining the destination/fate of a chick once it leaves the nest.
