Project School Visit:
Vaughan Willard Public School

Visit sponsored by: Ontario Power Generation Pickering

On January the 23rd, 2004, we visited Pickering's Vaughan Willard Public School. Below is a letter sent to us from the school.

The staff and students of Vaughan Willard Public School would like to thank you for the presentations we received on January 23, 2004. Maya Basdeo came to our school with Ariel, a peregrine falcon, and gave two presentations to our Junior Division students.
Maya was an excellent presenter, keeping the attention of the students, as she spoke about the peregrine falcons. She spoke about various aspects such as: pesticides, ecosystems, migration, habitat, anatomy, adaptations and conservation. All of these topics related to our science curriculum. The students were very excited and had many questions for Maya when she brought Ariel out of his cage.
We would also like to thank Ontario Power Generation for their sponsorship of this very worthwhile program. The students benefited immensely from the opportunity to learn first hand from such a knowledgeable presenter and to observe the peregrine falcon.

Sincerely,

Junior Division Staff
