Project School Visit:
Fred A. Hamilton Public School (Guelph)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment

On March 31, 2003 we visited Fred A. Hamilton Public School with one of our peregrine falcons, Ariel.  Below is a letter we received from the school.

Yesterday, our grade four and six students attended presentations by Maya Basdeo.  Please accept our thanks for this wonderful opportunity.

The Peregrine Falcon Foundation is to be commended for making this program available to our students.  The students learned much information from the excellent video, "Life on the Ledge" and most certainly enjoyed seeing a peregrine falcon up close.  The student guide book highlights some of the information covered in the presentation as well as much more detailed information and activities.  The teachers look forward to using this guidebook with their students.

Maya was an outstanding presenter.  She had the students' attention throughout the presentation.  She very skillfully asked the students questions and clearly explained the information so that the students could understand.  She clearly has a passion for the survival of the peregrine falcons.

On behalf of the students and staff of F.A. Hamilton P.S. I would like to thank the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and the TD Canada Trust - Friends of the Environment for bringing this presentation to our school.  It was truly a special opportunity for our students.

Sincerely,

Liz Schroder
