Project School Visit:
University Village Public School (Guelph)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment

On April 24, 2003 we visited University Village Public  School with one of our
peregrine falcons.  Below are comments and  drawings inspired by the visit:

Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed your presentation on April 24, 2003.

The presenter, Maya Basdeo, was outstanding.  She combined her excellent knowledge with humour that the students and teachers alike enjoyed.

The students were enthralled with the falcon Ms. Basdeo brought with her, and are interested in learning more.  The have been perusing the guides we were given and have enjoyed the rest of the video presentation.

The presentation integrated nicely with many different strands in the curriculum, particularly the Life Systems strand in science, and even with the social studies unit, Medieval Times, which many classes are currently studying.

We would like to thank The TD Canada Trust - Friends of the Environment for providing the funding for you to deliver such a fine presentation to our junior students.  What a wonderful opportunity it was for these students!

Sincerely,

Dawn Spark, Teacher
