Project School Visit:
All Saints Catholic School (Etobicoke)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In January 2001, we visited All Saints Catholic School in Etobicoke with our two-year-old male peregrine falcon "Scotty".  Below are some comments from the school:

The Canadian Peregrine Foundation came into our school on January 25 to present to our students an informative and interesting visit with a live Peregrine.  The following item taken from our school newsletter and written by the children says it best:

"Peregrine Falcons were spotted in the All Saints Library on Thursday, January 25.  This was because we had a presentation about Peregrines being an endangered animal.  The closest nest is at Bloor and Islington.  We saw a video telling us about how they are trying to introduce them into Toronto on tall buildings.  The large populations of pigeons in Toronto are their food source.  Bonne Chance Peregrines!"

Teachers and students were very impressed and strongly recommend a return visit for another group next year.  Thank you Canada Trust for funding this experience.

Sincerely,

G. Grant
Vice-Principal
