Project School Visit:
Banbury Heights Public School (Brantford)

Visit sponsored by:  TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In March 2002, we visited Brantford's Banbury Heights Public School with our young male peregrine falcon "Oscar".  Below are some letters and a drawing from the students:

Thank you very much for thinking of this school and sending Ms. Simpson.  She is very funny and used interesting ways to tell us facts.  Ms. Simpson was very informative and made us laugh.  Oscar was cool, and I learned a lot oabout him.  I learned about his wings and how they soar, and how he moves his head to fix his eyes.  I also learned how and why falcons died of DDT.
NOW I'VE SEEN A REAL FALCON!  Thank you for sending such a funny and kind person to this school,

Sincerely,
Meagan

Dear Ms. Nash,

First of all I'd like to say thank you for Ms. Simpson's presentation and for bringing Oscar the peregrine falcon.  He seemed to be a very pleasant
bird.  I also think he enjoyed our company as well as the attention.  Thanks to the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and Ms. Simpson I know a lot more about this bird and how close they came to extinction.  This is quite sad to know that people were pretty much killing these birds. Ms. Simpson's presentation was very informative in the way she used us as examples, sometimes and saying funny things but also informative. I really think that other schools would enjoy this presentation if they haven't already.  Thanks again.

Yours truly,
Jennifer, Grade 6
