Project School Visit:
Billy Green School (Stoney Creek)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In February 2001, we visited Stoney Creek's Billy Green School with our nine-year-old female peregrine falcon "Ariel".  Below are some comments from the school:

The students at Billy Green School were thrilled to have Dave Pfeffer and Ariel visit our school in February.  The Grade 4 to 7 students who attended the presentation were fascinated with viewing Ariel and had many excellent questions.

The students were able to learn many interesting facts about endangered species in general and the specific survival challenges facing the peregrine falcon in particular.  A few of our parent volunteers were able to hear the first presentation and they were most impressed as well.

The information shared during the presentation, along with the video and written resources left by David, will support many of our curriculum initiatives in the science area.

We would like to thank the Canada Trust Friends of the Environment Foundation for providing the financial support that made this special visit to our school possible.  This is a visit I'm sure students will recall in the years ahead.  Thank you for providing us with this unique learning experience.

Sincerely,

Mr. Dave Mackenzie
Principal
