Project School Visit:
Central Public School (Port Hope)

Visit sponsored by:  TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In May 2002, we visited Port Hope's Central Public School with our female peregrine falcon, "Ariel".  Below is a letter from the principal:

In these economic times, we as educators must avail ourselves of every opportunity possible to enrich the learning that our students receive.  The presentation that the Canadian Peregrine Foundation has prepared is outstanding.  It is curriculum based, engaging, and relative to the students.  In addition, the resources you left for us will prove beneficial for years to come.

Some of the comments from the teachers include:
  • The live bird was an excellent touch.  It brought realism to the presentation.
  • The presentation linked perfectly with the Grade 4 habitat curriculum.  I will make use of the video and the booklets this year and in years to come.
An excellent presentation.  The students were engaged and they continued to discuss the information when we returned to class.

Again thank you for your visit.  It was well worth the wait.
