Project School Visit:
D.M. Sutherland Public School (Woodstock)

Visit sponsored by: TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In November 2001, we visited Woodstock's D.M. Sutherland Public School with our barn owl, "Seamus".  Below is a letter from the school, followed by a couple of drawings from the students:

Recently our Grade 6 class had the pleasure of meeting your representative, Tracy, from the Canadian Peregrine Foundation.  The students and I wish to thank you and the TD Canada Trust Friends of the Environment Foundation for the opportunity to learn about the foundation and meet one of the owls within your care.

The students were keenly interested and learned many fascinating facts.  Whenever children have these kinds of opportunities to learn first hand about problems, issues and solutions that impact on the environment, they express interest and concern that they share beyond the classroom.  Your presenter certainly captivated her audience with an energetic presentation.

Thank you so much for coming to D.M. Sutherland Public School.

Sincerely,

Carol Ward
Grade 6 Teacher
