Project School Visit:
Franklin Public School (Kitchener)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In November 2002, we visited Kitchener's Franklin Public School with one of our peregrine falcons.  Below is a comment from the school as well as drawings from the students:

On Tuesday, November 12, we at Franklin School in Kitchener were treated to a very interesting presentation given to the Grade 5 and 6 students by your Foundation.  It caught the interest of the students because the presenter connected to the content of the presentation directly to the student's lives as well as to the Habitats curriculum, which the students had studied in Grade 4.  She gave an excellent oral preview before showing the video so the students were able to benefit from the short clip.  She also gave a very good demonstration of the food pyramid, using the group of students at hand.  All in all, it was a memorable presentation, both for the facts about the showing of the impressive Peregrine Falcon and also for the more general information about the inter-relatedness of all creatures.  We thank both you and the Friends of the Environment Foundations for sharing with us.

Congratulations on raising awareness of the fragility of our ecosystem and for providing an example of how we can act in a positive way to help it.
