Project School Visit:
Glen Orchard Public School (Port Carling)

Visit sponsored by:  Georgian Bay Osprey Society

In October 2001 we visited Glen Orchard Public School in Port Carling with our red-tailed hawk "Eric".   Below is a letter from the school:

Just a short note to thank you for the presentation that was delivered at Glen Orchard Public School on Tuesday October 30.  The students were awed by the information on the Osprey simply because it was so close to home.

The presentation was very appropriate for the Junior Division as it touched on several of the strands in the Science and Technology Curriculum.  The grade four program includes a study of Habitats and Communities, the grade six is the Diversity of Living Things and the Properties of Air and Characteristics of Flight.  I know that references to the presentation will occur as they study the above mentioned strands.  To actually see a live red-tailed hawk made the presentation more meaningful to the staff and students.

We look forward to meeting with your organization again in the future.  Thank you once again for a very informative presentation.

Sincerely,

Susan Love
Principal
