Project School Visit:
Grand Valley and District Public School (Orangeville)

Visits sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In December 2001, we re-visited Grand Valley and District Public School with our adult female peregrine falcon, Qetesh.  Below is a letter from the school:

On behalf of the junior staff at Grand Valley and District Public School, I would like to thank you for bringing such an informative and entertaining presentation to our school.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and you made some terrific links to the curriculum that we plan to follow up on.  Of course, a highlight of the presentation was getting to see a magnificent peregrine falcon up close.

We would also like to thank the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation for sponsoring our school and allowing us to have such a presentation.

You are doing a wonderful job and we wish you continued success with the Canadian Peregrine Falcon project.

Regards,

Lorna Lane
Grade 4/5 teacher

In December 2000, we visited Grand Valley and District Public School with our two-year-old male peregrine falcon "Scotty".  Below are some comments from the school:

On behalf of the staff and students at Grand Valley and District Public School, I would like to thank you for coordinating the Peregrine Falcon presentation for our students.  We found this session to be very informative.  Our students thoroughly enjoyed seeing and learning about falcons.  We sincerely appreciate the fact that our schools was included as a site for this presentation.  Thanks for giving our students this excellent learning opportunity.

Yours truly,

Tom Thompson
Principal
