Project School Visit:
Grandview Public School (New Hamburg)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In December 2000, we visited Grandview Public School in New Hamburg with our nine-year-old female peregrine falcon "Qetesh".  Below is a letter from one of the teachers, accompanied by some drawings which the students submitted following our visit.

Dear Canadian Peregrine Foundation,

I am writing to you on behalf of my students who thoroughly enjoyed a presentation regarding conservation and a real peregrine falcon.

The students learned a lot about the peregrine falcon and it is related to our current Science unit which is entitled Classification of Living Things.

The presentation was very interesting and informative.  Our presenter was Mr. David Pfeffer who was very personable, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable.

Thank you very much for visiting our school and making this important connection between conservation and science very real and meaningful to my students.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Glenn Harper, Grade Six Teacher
