Project School Visit:
Henderson Public School (Thornhill)

Visit sponsored by: TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In November 2001, we visited Thornhill's Henderson Avenue Public School with our young peregrine falcon, "Penny".  Below is a letter from the school:

This is a letter to thank you and the Canadian Peregrine Foundation for the superb presentation our students enjoyed Monday November 5, 2001.  Your foundation is to be commended for providing such a valuable educational experience for so many students.  My students were fascinated with the peregrine and its many abilities and now have a deeper understanding of the need to provide an environment free of toxic chemicals.  The video educating the students of the peregrine's situation in the neighbouring city of Toronto added greatly to the presentation.  Our presenter was very knowledgeable and served as a role model for the students due to his life long interest in the peregrine and other birds of prey.

As an educator I was most happy to provide an experience that links with our curriculum and demonstrates conservation in action.  Thank you so much for contacting us.

Sincerely,

J. Reece
