Project School Visit:
Levack Public School (Sudbury)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In November 2002, we visited Sudbury's Levack Public School with one of our peregrine falcons.  Below are comments from the students and the school:

I would sincerely like to thank you and your organization for the presentation at Levack Public School.  I am a first year teacher and for the Peregrine Foundation to come to Sudbury and help place a strong emphasis on the importance of habitats to our lives was very moving.  It fits right in with the grade four curriculum.  The children really enjoyed the presentation.  It was as interesting as it was informative and educational.

The TD Canada Trust Friends of the Environment Foundation again delivers strong support for worthwhile projects, of which yours truly is.  Thanks again and I hope the program continues as I have seen such benefit for my students.

When Oscar was presented to our school I was very happy because that was the first time I had ever seen a bird like Oscar.  During the presentation I really liked the movie it was very interesting.  I did not know very much about the peregrine falcon.  That was one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life.  Thank you.

My name is T.J. Gosselin and I thought your speech was neat.  I couldn’t believe that falcons can dive up to 400 km/hr.  I was shocked when falcons eat other birds.  I felt bad when falcons were endangered.  I couldn’t believe that the falcons were once totally gone from Ontario.  I am happy that falcons are now back in Ontario.
