Project School Visit:
Percy W. Merry Public School (Hornby)

Visit sponsored by:  TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In June 2002, we visited Percy W. Merry Public School with our female peregrine falcon, "Penny".  Below is a letter from the principal:

We recently had David and Penny visit our school to deliver the peregrine falcon workshop to our students.  We really appreciated your flexibility in tailoring the presentation to suit the needs of both our primary and junior students.  I particularly appreciated Dave's willingness to incorporate specific elements of the curriculum as requested.  We would also like to comment on Dave's ability to speak to the children in a "kid-friendly" style and present difficult concepts and vocabulary in a way that they could understand.

The overall message of minimizing the human ecological footprint upon the Earth fit in perfectly with our ongoing school-wide goal of Earth Literacy.

We were grateful for the funding support provided to us and hope that you will continue to be able to spread this message to other schools.

Thanks for an exciting introduction to these beautiful birds of prey!

Sincerely,

Mrs K Barnett
