Project School Visit:
Rousseau Public School (Ancaster)

Visit sponsored by: Friends of the Environment Foundation

In March 2001, we visited Rousseau Public School in Ancaster with our nine-year-old female peregrine falcon "Ariel".  Below are some drawings from the students, accompanied by comments from the principal:

The staff and students of Rousseau School are very appreciative of having Dave Pfeffer and "Ariel" the Peregrine Falcon visit our grade 4 and 6 classes.

The presentation was informative, interesting, and our students loved "Ariel".  The ideas fit in with the delivery of our units on "Habitats and Communities" (Grade 4) and "Diversity of Living Things" (Grade 6).

In both sessions we actually had to cut them off at the allocated time - our students were right into it!

All of us learned a lot and gained an appreciation for the marvels of the Peregrine Falcon.  I know that your website will be a popular point of interest for all of us.

Special thanks to Canada Trust through their "Friends of the Environment" funding for making this possible.

I highly recommend this presentation to other schools.  Our students have been talking about it all day long.

Sincerely,

Bob Vardy, Principal
