Project School Visit:
Saginaw Public School (Cambridge)

Visit sponsored by: The New Ontario Trillium Foundation

In March 2000, we visited Cambridge's Saginaw Public School.  A couple of the students have sent us letters in response to our visit:

Dear Scotty,

I am writing to you today to thank you for coming to visit my grade 4 class at Saginaw Public School.  It was nice that you had time to come to my school.

I was happy to learn that DDT is not being used in Canada anymore.  I was sad to hear it was killing the falcon chicks.

I think you are an amazing bird of prey.  your wings looked powerful and your talons looked very sharp.

I will always be a friend to the birds, and especially to you, Scotty.

Yours truly,

Grant M.

Dear Marcel,

Thank you for presenting Scotty to us and all the information you showed us.  We think you did a great job at it and Scotty was terrific.

I hope that the peregrine falcon comes off the endangered species list and DDT is not used anymore.  We appreciate all the hard work you put into the peregrine falcon presentation and raising all the peregrine falcons.

Sincerely,

Dane L.
