In February 2001, we visited St. Denis School in St. Catharines with our two-year-old male peregrine falcon "Scotty". Below are some comments from the school:
I am writing to tell you that the peregrine presentation made to our grade 4, 6, and 7 students on February 9th was absolutely fantastic (we also squeezed a grade 5 class in since they had done a novel on the peregrine). I saw both presentations myself and I only echo the feelings of the all students and staff involved.
The content of the presentation plus the method of delivery (i.e. short video presentation, directed questions and the peregrine itself) was extremely effective. Students were riveted to the presenter. Students learned a great deal about the peregrine and found the presentation enjoyable. I have seen many presentations over the past 30+ years in education and I would have to rate your foundation's presentation near the top if not the best. The presenter, Kelly Harker, showed an excellent teaching approach.
Thank you for coming to make the presentation to the students of St. Denis School.
I would also like to thank Canada Trust for sponsoring the presentation. They have been most generous to our school in the past.
