Project School Visit:
St. Matthew School (Waterloo)

Visit sponsored by: The Friends of the Environment Foundation

In April 2000, we visited Waterloo's St. Matthew School.  The students had an opportunity to meet "Scotty", our one-year-old male peregrine falcon.  Below is a short letter from one of the teachers:

On behalf of the grade 3 to 7 pupils at St. Matthew School, I wish to express our gratitude for bringing the Peregrine Foundation presentation to Waterloo.  The pupils found the presentation both interesting and informational.  Many pupils mentioned later that they now have a clearer understanding of the term "endangered species".

Having a live falcon present for the pupils to see truly brought the message home.  The fact that the teachers were able to explore the website as suggested provided an excellent preparation/introduction to the presentation.  This was truly a worthwhile educational learning experience for everyone.

Once again, thank you for making the presentation available to our community.

Sincerely,

Lino Guidolin, Principal
