Project School Visit:
Stornoway Crescent Public School (Thornhill)

Visit sponsored by:  TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In May 2002, we visited Thornhill's Stornoway Crescent Public School with our female peregrine falcon, "Ariel".  Below is a letter from the school:

On behalf of the students of Stornoway Crescent Public School, I would like to thank you for the presentations to our grades 4 to 6 students, on May 17, 2002.  The students were very excited and enthused about what they learned.  you did a wonderful job of addressing the related expectations in the curriculum.  The students were actively engaged and took away a lot to think about.

Several of the student comments were:
  • We learned about how pesticides from other countries affect wildlife in Canada.  We need to be very sure to wash fruits and vegetables carefully.
  • We learned about how important it is to protect our environment.
Please pass on our appreciation to the sponsors of this program, the Toronto Dominion Friends of the Environment Foundation.

Sincerely,

Cathy Hughes
On behalf of the school council, staff, and students of Stornoway Crescent Public School
