Project School Visit:
Yorkview Public School (Dundas)

Visit sponsored by:  the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation

In March 2002, we visited Yorkview Public School with our male peregrine falcon "Oscar".  Below are three drawings from students who attended the presentations, and a letter from one of the teachers:

My grade five class, at Yorkview Public school, was given an opportunity to participate in a visit from Tracy Simpson.  The students learned a great deal about the plight of the falcon.

Ms. Simpson was a dynamic speaker.  her level of enthusiasm motivated the students to listen intently and her passion inspired them to learn more.

The information presented covered many components of the grade five science program.  Also, the discussion of the peregrine falcon's role in history tied directly into our unit in social studies on Egypt.

Thank you for arranging this visit, and commendations to Ms. Simpson.  I am wishing to thank the TD Canada Trust Friends of the Environment Foundation for their generosity and support.

With appreciation,
