July 20, 2002 -- Installing a transmitter is a delicate and somewhat complicated process.  With practice, it is not nearly as confusing as the photo may suggest, but nonetheless requires good cooperation and communication between the person attaching the transmitter and the bird handler (and ideally the bird itself, though it often has other thoughts - the hood on the bird's head though does calm it down considerably).
