Catherine from Ottawa was kind enough to send this little update and photo to us, of her raptor visitor that dropped in for a visit and a quick bit.
Great photo Catherine. Thanks.

On Sunday, Oct 17, 2004, this bird was perched on my front porch railing for over an hour. It appeared to have caught and dropped a chipmunk, which was later found dead, under a table on the front porch. Perhaps the bird thought it was still alive and was waiting for it to scurry out from under the table.

The picture was taken three to four feet away inside my house, looking out the window located beside my front door.

All in all, an awesome sight!
Thank you.
