Mom Resumes Hunting

Day 9 and Mom has started hunting as of today! Dad stood guard for about a half hour while she went hunting and she came back in with quite a large sized pigeon! She defeathered in the nestbox which is not usual for her at this point however the parents were alarming earlier so they must have felt threatened somehow - all I could see in the area were a few Canada Geese however my vision is not as acute as a peregrine falcons!  About an hour earlier both parents were agitated, mom practically threw herself over the chicks while dad stood guard right beside her for quite awhile.
I had my binoculars downstairs with me today as I wanted to check their legs…no bands on mom as was expected. Dad was being very coy and wouldn’t show me his legs at all - he stood with his back to the camera! I swear he was laughing at me !
