!!! June 2 Banding Day Photos
June 02, 2009 - Toronto - King Street
Frank Butson Reports:
On June 2,hosted by,Sandra Celli,of, Avison Young Property Management, 4 Peregrine Falcon chicks were banded at the 18 King St E. Mark Heaton from MNR and his able assistance had their hands full. Big sister Molly emerged quite Feisty. The room filled with Peregrine Falcon calls. One by one the Peregrine chicks were weighed, sexed, named and given their US Fish and Wildlife band and their Canadian Ministry of Natural Resources Band. Please enjoy the photos of this years young:
1.Molly     853grams       23 days old  98/x
2.Alpin      603grams       22days old   32/y
3.Kendal    536grams        24days old   33/y
4.Spec        378grams        15days           34/y
Spec’s small size surprised us all. There had been 5 eggs and only 4 hatched. We suspect egg 4 didnt hatch and Spec was egg 5,accounting for his difference in age. Extra care was taken in the decision to band him.
