RZ is in the air and staying high!!!

Day 3 of fledge watch was a very wet one! It rained all morning–everyone stayed put though they all still managed to whine a lot for food!! Rain stopped around noon and Quest finally brought a packet of food for RZ!! He grabbed it from her and mantled it when she tried to take it back–he wasn’t giving it up!! She left and he spent almost the next hour working on it lol. She took another packet of food to the top of the old Harlequin building, which drove the other 3 crazy -lots of whining and flapping but they had to wait. A couple of alarm calls interrupted their lunch. Dad looked after that! Bob joined me then. Then we watched Quest have a lovely, sweet visit with RZ. She flew to the ledge beside him first and they had a little chat. Then she flew out and around to the ledge on the other side of him. Then out and around and down below him. She then went in the ledge and then kind of pranced to the edge. Then with a few more squees, she flew out and back to the roof of the nest building. And not 15 minutes later, he did the same thing! Out and to the nest building, east side, 2nd ledge down!!! Great job RZ!!! And a great job Quest-she showed him how. Then Quest took that packet into the nest ledge and the other 3 finally got their lunch!! We watched RZ explore his new ledge…he decided he didn’t like it and before you knew it, he ledge hopped! I thought maybe he would just continue around the building but he was tired and settled in for a rest. Just as well as the rain started up again-ugh. As everyone settled down again and there was no movement for over an hour, Bob and I decided to get out of the rain for a bit. As I only live 10 minutes away, I went home and came back to close the watch out. And when I came back, the 3 were still on the nest ledge but RZ was gone from the ledge! Of course! I checked around the building, but then saw Dad fly off, so followed him, watched him go around the next door building and come back. So I went behind that building and there, in the corner, still high, RZ! Guess he likes that building lol. And there I left them at dark. I won’t be there until evening tomorrow but Marion , Bob and Sally will be there to see what Day 4 will bring!!
