First Fledge

June 06, 2020 - Mississauga - Executive Centre

Marion Nash Reports:

Lucie was out on the watch at MEC yesterday when the male took his first flight.

He flew well but was loosing altitude so mom and dad took off after him and did their best to assist flying under him trying to bump and push him up.

Lucie seeing that he was coming down followed his flight direction across the street to MEC 2 but lost him as he got below the tree line out of her site.

Knowing approximately where he came down she started searching but no luck. Mark and I were at the Bloor and Islington nest site watching the unbanded 4 who were all still on the nest and safe so we headed out to MEC to help Lucy find him.

We searched all around MEC 2 and again no luck. We were later joined by Winston and we all searched once again, no luck.
Hopefully Lucie spots him today. He is able to fly so I expect he will got himself up to some altitude but just out of our site likely in a tree.
