Many Thanks to Matt and Mark to finally get the King St nest camera up and running! Right now, it appears they are still in incubation stage. Keep watching as we don’t have an exact date of an expected hatch.

Linda Woods Reports:
This morning at around 10:45 a.m. a Turkey Vulture was floating circles over the King Edward Hotel. Expecting one or both adults to come out and run it out of the area, I was disappointed. No reaction from either adult peregrine. Everything remained quiet.
This afternoon, one adult sitting on the nest ledge near the camera. At 5:15 p.m. a second Turkey Vulture, perhaps the same one, passing through the area. This one was flying very fast and heading what appeared to be the Spit. Perhaps this bird had the advantage of a tail wind and pass through quickly and again no reaction from either adult peregrine.

Linda Woods Reports:
Passing by the King St. nest this morning around 11:00, no activity. I waited for about 10 minutes and Windwhistler came into view from the south east and over to 33 Victoria St. He then flew over to first ledge of 18 King St and disappeared behind the pillar. I waited a few more minutes and he reappeared and sat on the first ledge. I had to leave and did not see a direct hand off of the nest at this time. Adult female was not seen, probably sitting on the eggs.

Linda Woods Reports:
This evening around 6:15 p.m. one adult seen having a great fly around the nesting area. Lots of soaring and diving. Most of the spring time roof top maintenance of the area buildings appear to be completed, and activity on these areas seems to be quieter, which might account for the aerobatics this evening.

Linda Woods Reports:
Walking past 18 King St this afternoon, I just happen to look up and see a shift change at 2:25p.m. The female flew off and came to rest on the south side of Dundee Place.
The resident peregrines are there and incubating. Local residents are saying that they are not seeing much activity from the pair recently, probably due to the spring time maintenance occurring on the roof area of the adjacent buildings.

Linda Woods Reports:
Approximately 09:10 am, in coming peregrine seen approaching the nest ledges of the east side of 18 King St. I can’t see the nest ledges from my view point at this time, but the flight path was direct from south of the King Edward Hotel. The adult did one fly around above the Hotel before disappearing on the north side of the Hotel. Next hand of the nest should be about 2 hours from now.

Frequent checks on the King St site and only seeing one adult at a time. Although how many eggs has not been confirmed, seeing only one adult at a time indicates they must be incubation. The damp, drizzly weather today has both out of sight when I dropped by today.

Linda Woods Reports:
I dropped by the King St nest site early this morning and did not see either adult. Not sure where they are sitting when not on the nesting area. Temporary Spring time maintenance of building roof tops in the area, have them sitting out of sight for the time being.

Keeping an eye on the King St. nest, I’m sure they are on eggs. I’m only seeing one adult at at time now. The Sheraton had their first egg today and King St is usually not far behind.
