Statler As A Fledgling.

July 04, 2012 - Kitchener - CTV-Bell Media Tower

Frank Butson Reports:

The Canadian Peregrine Foundation has many friends south of the border. Some of them watch the nests in Buffalo NY,including the one from which Statler is from. They were very excited to hear Statler was nesting up here. One of the ladies who goes by Sage Kadow, immediately asked if I would like some photos of Statler when she was just a fledgling herself.  Of course I knew our new nest hosts the Sun Life Financial Centre in Waterloo would like to see “their girl” so I graciously accepted the offer.

By the next morning, Sage had sent me these 3 shots of Statler being released after she had been rescued as a young Peregrine. Statler was not hurt at all,she just needed to be put back to a rooftop. She was banded before she was released, the only of the nests 3 to be so. That band is how we know that she is now here residing at Sun Life.  Thanks to Sage and all of our Buffalo friends for rescueing Statler, without you Sun Life would never have been graced by Peregrine Falcons this season.
