A visit to Stoney Creek yesterday revealed that Athena has successfully hatched at least two chicks!! Athena was hatched at the William Osler Hospital site in 2010 to O’Connor and Hurricane (son of Windwhistler and Wind). And so the legend continues Windwhistler!!
Banding day for the 18 King chicks is set for June 5th at 10:00 AM on the 3rd floor. come and see the banding or watch the extraction on the web cam.
Snapped via the web cam from France at 8:20 a.m. Toronto time, three eggs are clearly shown beside the one hatchling. Hope his brothers or sisters turn up soon.
Anxiously awaiting a second hatch at King St. I think we should have had a second hatch by now. Evening feed for the wee one.
This just in, Erin feeding the little one. Looks like three eggs to go. May 18th 4:15p.m.
This morning I captured a few images of Erin feeding the first hatchling at King Street as it sat among what looks like three eggs still intact. Another hatch should be coming at any moment so keep your eyes on the camera!
Mom is feeding the little one and I was able to get a clear screen capture of him or her :)
It is with particular joy that I announce first hatch at King Street! Erin and Windwhistler are both 16 years old this year and are without a doubt a very special pair!
Thank you to DEF from BCAW for catching the first hatch! DEF also said that Windwhistler was so excited that he came in with food twice in 10 minutes for the baby!
